Opening a new account online with Hingham Institution for Savings is easy and will only take a few minutes! To get started, you will need your Social Security Number and the routing and account number for the account you want to use to fund your new account.
Navigate to the Account you want to open by clicking on the appropriate tab on the top, and then click Apply Now.
Fill in some basic information and verify your identity
Fund your new account by logging into your bank's online banking platform (Bank Login), or input your routing and account number as well as your Driver's License number (Add An Account)
Read and accept the Hingham Institution Account Disclosures (add a joint here if desired by checking the box) and submit!
The decision for your application takes a few minutes to load. Once you've completed your application and your account has been approved, you will receive your new account number and terms (maturity date for CDs).
If your application is not automatically approved, you will receive an email stating your application has been approved or denied once your application is reviewed.
Getting Your Account Details
If your application is approved, you must sign back into your application to retrieve your account details. To protect your sensitive information, account details will never be emailed to you.
To sign back into your application, navigate to the Open an Account tab at the top of the HIFS Homepage, then click the Sign In option underneath the Apply Now button
You will be asked to enter your email address -- you must enter the email address you used when filling out the application (this field is case-sensitive). Once you submit your email address, you will be asked to enter the verification code that was sent to your email.
After you hit Confirm, you will be taken to your application dashboard that shows all of the applications you have begun and submitted. Click on the View Details option next to the account you would like to retrieve details for and details will show, including Name, account type, account number, Funding amounts and maturity date (For CDs).
