Opening a business banking account with Hingham Savings is easy, and can be done in a branch or remotely.
Before you open a business banking account with Hingham Savings, your business entity must be formed. Once this is complete, you can either visit a branch, or fill out this form and a bank representative will walk you through the appropriate steps and requests for information. Please note, you can expedite the process by having the below documents and information ready.
To open your account, you'll need to bring or provide the following documentation used to form and register your business:
A Copy of Your Businesses Organizational Documents
LLC, Corporation, S-Corp - Articles of Incorporation
Trusts - Trust Documents
Sole Proprietorship, DBA - Certificate of Business from the town the business is registered in (this is acquired by visiting the town hall and there is likely a fee involved).

Employer Identification Number
Please note that all formal organizations (LLCs, Corporations, S-Corps, Partnerships) must have an employer identification number (Tax ID).
Beneficial Ownership Form
The U.S. government passed a regulation regarding the beneficial ownership of legal entity customers. Moving forward, we must collect information on each individual, if any, who directly or indirectly, owns 25 percent or more of the equity interests of the legal entity.

Signature Card and Resolution
At the time of account opening, you will be provided with a Signature Card and Resolution which record the names and signatures of all individuals authorized to transact business on the account.
During the account opening process, we will verify identity information for each signer on the account. If this process is being done remotely, or if any signers are not present, these forms can be filled out in the presence of a notary. The notarized form will be sent to Hingham Savings and we will verify the validity of the document and process accordingly.

Business Banking Services
After the business and personal identification and authorization process is complete, we will review our service offerings with you and work with you to select services that fit your businesses' needs. These service offerings include:
Business Online Banking - access your account(s) from anywhere, anytime using our online banking services. We also offer business mobile banking for iPhone and Android. These can be set up once your account is established.
ACH/Electronic Rent Collection - collect funds or make payments electronically.
Lockbox Services - expedite payment collection using a designated lockbox.
Remote Deposit Capture - for high-volume check processing, use a remote deposit scanner to efficiently deposit multiple checks at a time. ($25,000 initial limit that can be adjusted if necessary)
Positive Pay - track pending checks and ACH payments on your account and be sure that any possible fraudulent activity is not processed
Mobile Deposit - deposit checks using your smartphone. ($25,000 initial limit that can be adjusted if necessary)
Online Wire Transfers - transfer money to and from other organizations for free from outside the branch network
Debit Card - pay for business expenses using your HIFS debit card (available for account signers only). ($2,000 initial daily limit that can be adjusted if needed. Maintain an average monthly balance of $2,500 or more in your account and receive up to $45 a statement cycle in ATM rebates at non-HIFS ATMs)
Free Checks - Free checks for the lifetime of your Business Banking account.
