What is Zelle®?

Zelle is a payment service that allows you to send and receive funds with individuals who know and trust each, typically within minutes, by registering an email address or mobile phone number. Zelle® is intended for personal transactions within the U.S. and is made between .

How long does it take for my recipient to receive funds?

Most Zelle® transfers are processed within minutes, however not all payments are delivered instantly. There are three delivery speeds - instant, next day, and 3 day standard. Delivery speed is dependent on whether or not the recipient is registered in the Zelle® network, and whether or not they have a bank account that allows for same day transfers. The cut-off time for Standard (Next-Day) and Standard (3-Day) is 10:00 p.m. PT

  • Instant: Both the sender and the contact have Instant-capable accounts.

  • Next Day: The sender has an Instant-capable account but the receiver does not, or the sender selects a future date to send the payment

  • Standard 3-Day: The sender does not have an Instant- capable account.

Is there a limit on the amount I can send/receive through Zelle®?

  • Send/Request Money: $5 minimum per transaction

  • Transaction and Daily Limit: $1,000

  • Monthly Limit: $3,000

  • Sending Money: 15 transactions per day, 30 transactions per month

  • Request Money: 30 transactions per day, 30 transactions per month

I use Zelle® with a different financial institution. Can I use the same email or phone number associated with the other bank?

Each email and/or phone number can only be linked to one bank account at a time. If you currently have an email linked with an account at a different bank, you may choose to switch that email over to your HIFS account during enrollment. You can also choose to use a different email and/or phone number with your HIFS account to keep things separate.

I currently use Business Online. Can I still use Zelle®?
