How to Add your Hingham Savings Debit Card to Zelle

Zelle is a fast, safe, and easy way to transfer money to friends and family. In this article, we will guide you through the process of signing up for a Zelle account and linking your Hingham Savings Debit Card. Make sure to have your Hingham Savings Debit Card with you during the process!

Please note that Hingham Savings is not a partner bank with Zelle. The person you send or request money from must be a current participant with a Zelle partner financial institution.

To get started, open the Zelle app on your device. If you do not have the app, you can download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Step 1: Sign Up

If this is your first time using the app, tap on the "Sign Up" button. If you already have a Zelle account direct through Zelle (not with an alternate financial institution), skip to Adding your Hingham Savings Debit Card to your existing Zelle account.

Step 2: Enter Your Information

Next, enter your phone number and tap "Continue." This will be the number associated with your Zelle account. If you are already registered with Zelle through an alternate financial institution you will not be able to register again directly with Zelle using the same phone number.

Step 3: Review Privacy & Security Disclosure

Before proceeding, you will need to review the Privacy & Security Disclosure. This document outlines how Zelle protects your personal information and ensures secure transactions. After reviewing the disclosure, check the box at the bottom to agree to the terms and tap "Continue."

Step 4: Find Your Bank

When prompted to find your bank, type in "Hingham Institution For Savings" and click on the search button. You will receive a message that there are no name matches, click on the "Don't See Your Bank" option.

Step 5: Enter Your Email Address

After clicking on "Don't See Your Bank," you will be prompted to enter your email address. This email address will be linked to your Zelle account and will be used for verification purposes.

Step 6: Retrieve Your Verification Code

Once you have entered your email address, click on the "Continue" button. You will then receive an email from Zelle with a verification code. Check your email and enter the verification code into the designated field.

Step 7: Verify Your Card Information

To begin, you will need to verify your card information. This includes your debit card number, first name, last name, expiration date, and security code/CVV found on the back of your card. You can enter this information manually or use the camera icon to scan your card and avoid manual entry.

Step 8: Add Your Billing Address

Next, you will need to add your billing address. This is the address associated with your debit card. Make sure to enter this information accurately to ensure a smooth registration process.

Step 9: Create Your Password

Finally, you will need to create a password for your account. This will be used to log in and access your account in the future. Make sure to choose a strong and secure password to protect your account.

Congratulations, You're All Set!

You have successfully signed up for a Zelle account and linked your Hingham Savings Debit Card! Now you can start sending and receiving money.

Adding your Hingham Savings Debit Card to your existing Zelle account:

  • Open the Zelle app and sign in to your existing Zelle account.

  • From the Home screen tap the gear icon in the upper left corner.

  • Tap on Account, then tap on Switch Account.

  • Enter your Hingham Savings Debit Card information and then add your billing address.

How to Request and Send Funds with Zelle

With Zelle, you can request and send funds as long as the person you are receiving from or sending funds to is using a Zelle partner financial institution.

Requesting Funds

To request funds using Zelle, follow these simple steps:

  • From the home screen tap Request. Your contacts will be displayed.

  • Select the contact from whom you are requesting funds.

  • Enter the amount requested, hit Review.

  • Add a brief note on what the payment is for, then hit Request.

  • The Requestee will receive a text requesting the funds.

  • Once they accept and complete the request, funds will be sent to your Hingham Savings account.

Sending Funds

Sending funds to your contacts with Zelle is easy. Follow these simple steps to get started:

  • From the home screen tap Send. Your contacts will be displayed.

  • Select the contact that you want to send funds to.

  • Enter the amount you want to send, hit Review

  • Add a brief note on what the payment is for, then hit Send.

  • The individual will receive a text or email notifying them of the payment you have sent and funds will be withdrawn from your Hingham Savings Account.
