Adding Recipients in Q2

How to create and manage recipients of ACH and wire payments in the new online banking system

When using ACH or wire services in Business Online, you can streamline the process by saving your recipient's payment information for future transactions.

If you have not yet enrolled in Business Online and ACH/wire services, please complete a request form.

Once enrolled, log into Business Online, click Business Banking and then Recipients.

Add an ACH Recipient

If you send money to your payee by ACH, use these instructions to save their account information as a recipient.

  1. On the Recipients page, click Add Recipient

  2. Complete the information on the Add Recipient page, starting with a Display Name and notification options:

    1. Display Name: Enter the recipient's name as you would like it to appear in your online banking

    2. Email Address (optional): Enter an email address for your recipient

    3. Send email notifications for template payments (optional): Check this box if you would like your recipient to receive a confirmation email when you process a template payment to them

  3. After inputting a Display Name, enter the recipient's account information and then click the checkmark button :

    1. Payment Type: Change to ACH Only

    2. Account Type: Select Checking, Savings, Loan, or General Ledger

    3. Account: Enter the account number of your recipient

    4. Financial Institution (FI): Type the bank name or routing number for your recipient to search for their financial institution

      Note: Some banks have multiple routing numbers. Always verify the routing number with your recipient.

    5. ACH Routing Number: Enter the routing number of your recipient's financial institution

    Note: If you pay multiple accounts for the same recipient, you can add the additional accounts by clicking Add account.

  4. Once you have added your recipient's account, complete the Recipient Details section and then click Save Recipient:

    1. ACH Name: Type the name of your recipient as it is registered with their financial institution

    2. ACH ID (optional): If you utilize ACH IDs, enter your associated ID here

    Note: The other fields within Recipient Details are not applicable to this type of recipient.

Add a Domestic Wire Recipient

If you send money to your domestic payee by wire, use these instructions to save their account information as a recipient.

  1. On the Recipients page, click Add Recipient

  2. Complete the information on the Add Recipient page, starting with a Display Name and notification options:

    1. Display Name: Enter the recipient's name as you would like it to appear in your online banking

    2. Email Address (optional): Enter an email address for your recipient

    3. Send email notifications for template payments (optional): Check this box if you would like your recipient to receive a confirmation email when you process a template payment to them

  3. After inputting a Display Name, enter the recipient's account information and then click the checkmark button :

    1. Payment Type: Change to Wire Only

    2. Beneficiary Type: Change to Domestic

    3. Account: Enter the account number of your recipient

    4. Financial Institution (FI): Type the bank name or routing number for your recipient to search for their financial institution

      Note: Some banks have multiple routing numbers. Always verify the routing number with your recipient.

    5. Name: Type the name of your recipient's financial institution

    6. FI ABA Number: Enter the routing number of your recipient's financial institution

    7. Address, City, State, & Postal Code: Input the address information for your recipient's financial institution in the relevant fields

    8. Intermediary FI: If you have an intermediary bank listed in your wiring instructions, input the bank name, routing number, and address information in this section

    Note: If you pay multiple accounts for the same recipient, you can add the additional accounts by clicking Add account.

  4. Once you have added your recipient's account, complete the Recipient Details section and then click Save Recipient:

    1. Beneficiary Name: Type the name of your recipient as it is registered with their financial institution

    2. Country, Address, City, State, & ZIP: Input the address information for your recipient in the relevant fields

    Note: The other fields within Recipient Details are not applicable to this type of recipient.

Add an International Wire Recipient

If you send money to your international payee by wire, use these instructions to save their account information as a recipient.

  1. On the Recipients page, click Add Recipient

  2. Complete the information on the Add Recipient page, starting with a Display Name and notification options:

    1. Display Name: Enter the recipient's name as you would like it to appear in your online banking

    2. Email Address (optional): Enter an email address for your recipient

    3. Send email notifications for template payments (optional): Check this box if you would like your recipient to receive a confirmation email when you process a template payment to them

  3. After inputting a Display Name, enter the recipient's account information and then click the checkmark button :

    1. Payment Type: Change to Wire Only

    2. Beneficiary Type: Change to International

    3. Account: Select IBAN or Account and then enter the associated number of your recipient

    4. Financial Institution (FI): Type the bank name or Swift/BIC for your recipient to search for their financial institution

      Note: Some banks have Swift/BIC codes. Always verify the codes with your recipient.

    5. Name: Type the name of your recipient's financial institution

    6. Country: Select the country of your recipient's financial institution

    7. Swift/BIC: Enter the Swift/BIC code of your recipient's financial institution

    8. Address 1, Address 2, & Address 3: Input the address information for your recipient's financial institution

    9. Intermediary FI: If you have an intermediary bank listed in your wiring instructions, input the bank name, routing number, and address information in this section

    Note: If you pay multiple accounts for the same recipient, you can add the additional accounts by clicking Add account.

  4. Once you have added your recipient's account, complete the Recipient Details section and then click Save Recipient:

    1. Beneficiary Name: Type the name of your recipient as it is registered with their financial institution

    2. Country, Address, City, State, & ZIP: Input the address information for your recipient in the relevant fields

    Note: The other fields within Recipient Details are not applicable to this type of recipient.

Add an ACH and Wire Recipient

If you send money to your domestic payee by both ACH and wire, use these instructions to save their account information as a recipient.

  1. On the Recipients page, click Add Recipient

  2. Complete the information on the Add Recipient page, starting with a Display Name and notification options:

    1. Display Name: Enter the recipient's name as you would like it to appear in your online banking

    2. Email Address (optional): Enter an email address for your recipient

    3. Send email notifications for template payments (optional): Check this box if you would like your recipient to receive a confirmation email when you process a template payment to them

  3. After inputting a Display Name, enter the recipient's account information and then click the checkmark button :

    1. Payment Type: Change to ACH and Wire

    2. Account Type: Select Checking, Savings, Loan, or General Ledger

    3. Account: Enter the account number of your recipient

    4. Financial Institution (FI): Type the bank name or routing number for your recipient to search for their financial institution

    5. ACH Routing Number: Enter the routing number that your recipient's financial institution uses for ACH transactions

    6. Name: Type the name of your recipient's financial institution

    7. FI ABA Number: Enter the routing number of your recipient's financial institution uses for wire transactions

    8. Address, City, State, & Postal Code: Input the address information for your recipient's financial institution in the relevant fields

    9. Intermediary FI: If you have an intermediary bank listed in your wiring instructions, input the bank name, routing number, and address information in this section

    Note: If you pay multiple accounts for the same recipient, you can add the additional accounts by clicking Add account.

  4. Once you have added your recipient's account, complete the Recipient Details section and then click Save Recipient:

    1. Beneficiary Name: Type the name of your recipient as it is registered with their financial institution

    2. ACH Name: Type the name of your recipient as it is registered with their financial institution

    3. ACH ID (optional): If you utilize ACH IDs, enter your associated ID here

    4. Country, Address, City, State, & ZIP: Input the address information for your recipient in the relevant fields
