Recent Changes to Your Home Equity Line of Credit
Hingham Institution for Savings Bank will no longer grant or honor check writing access to make credit advances from your equity line of credit. Advances from your Home Equity Line of Credit will only be made by transferring funds directly into your checking account at Hingham Institution for Savings.
Credit advances can be made by logging into your Online Banking or visiting one of your nearest branch locations and requesting a credit advance be made from your line of credit. If you don’t have a checking account at Hingham Institution for Savings, please visit our website at www.hinghamsavings.com to open a checking account online. You may also visit one of our branch locations to open a checking account.
Sweep Account Transfers from your Hingham Institution for Savings HELOC to your Savings/Checking account(s) is hereby terminated. You will be responsible for making deposits into your checking account to cover any debits to that account.
Are you looking to pay your regular amount due? You can log into online banking at any time to complete a transfer.
Reminders:
If you select “regular payment” and overpay the amount due, it will go towards the next months amount due, not towards the principal.
If you select “regular payment” and there is no amount due on the system, it may go towards principal.
If you want to make a payment to principal, change the "regular payment" selection to "principal"
Are you looking to pay your line of credit account to zero online? You can log into online banking and pay the line to zero by breaking the transaction out into two payments as indicated below:
Step #1
Log into online banking
Complete the system defaulted transfer to “regular payment” with the dollar amount filled.
Step #2
Complete a second transfer using the "principal payment" option
Enter the desired amount you wish to pay getting the line of credit balance to zero.
