We routinely clean all of our facilities and are disinfecting common surfaces every evening as part of our regular cleaning. We have implemented internal strategies to transition many of our corporate operations to remote work, leveraging our investments in cloud-based technology and our wider geographic footprint. We have also distributed face masks to our staff, consistent with CDC guidance, and we respectfully request that all individuals that visit one of our lobby offices also wear a mask or face covering.
In light of the current guidance on "social distancing" as the key strategy to slowing the impact of COVID-19, we strongly encourage our customers to consider the following:
First, we strongly encourage customers to explore our digital services outlined below. In particular, our remote deposit capture options (Personal and Business, Mobile and Desktop) eliminate the need to visit our offices to deposit checks.
Second, we strongly encourage customers to contact us by phone directly or at 781-749-2200 in the event you have informational inquiries. Please consider whether your business requires an in-person visit if you are not making deposits or withdrawing funds.
Many of our customers, because of their lack of comfort with digital offerings, prefer to bank with us in-person. Many of these customers are higher risk and elderly. Keeping our facilities open to support these customers is important to us and we need your help and cooperation. If you have the ability to utilize our digital tools please carefully consider whether you need to visit our branch in-person during this period.
Opening New Accounts: Both new and existing personal customers can open new accounts digitally, including savings, money market, certificates of deposits, and checking accounts. Businesses may also contact our branches or our Specialized Deposit Group and we can handle all of your needs in-person or remotely as you prefer.
Access Accounts: Access your account information, handle payments and make deposits using our Personal Online Banking and Business Online Banking or via our Personal and Business Mobile Banking Apps.
Handle Payments: Using our free business and mobile applications, personal customers can pay bills (including sending checks) and move money to and from their accounts at other banks. In addition to these tools, business customers also have the ability to initiate wire transfers free of charge using business online banking and receive real-time e-mail notifications when wires are sent and received. Make Deposits: Both Personal and Business customers are pre-enrolled in our free mobile check deposit service with the ability to make deposits up to $25,000 through our mobile apps. Contactless Payments: Avoid using cash by using your Hingham Mastercard Debit Card. If you have an iPhone, you can also add your debit card to the ApplePay digital wallet on your phone or watch.

Since 1834, we have provided a safe harbor for our customers through many economic cycles. Between our FDIC and Commonwealth of Massachusetts DIF coverage, deposits at Hingham enjoy unlimited insurance coverage.
